内容摘要：
Fractional calculus was invented soon after its integer-order cousins. Although it was studied by many well-known mathematicians historically, fractional calculus has become popular in practical applications only in the past few decades when its development and application has been stimulated by real applications.
In this series of lectures, we will see how fractional calculus has been used to resolve many important applications including petroleum oil reservoir simulation and groundwater contaminant transport and remediation, which traditional integer-order calculus has difficulty to handle.
报告人简介：王宏（Hong Wang），美国南卡罗来纳大学终身教授，山东省“泰山学者” 海外特聘教授。王宏教授长期从事计算数学的教学与科学研究工作，在分数阶微分方程的高精度快速算法、多孔介质渗流力学数值模拟/二氧化碳埋存等研究领域取得了许多创造性成果，先后得到自然科学基金等多项研究资助。王宏教授在国际权威学术杂志SIAM J. Sci. Comput.、SIAM J. Numer. Anal.、J. Comput. Phys.、J. Sci. Comput. 等发表SCI论文100余篇，应邀做学术报告200余次。近年来，王宏教授先后为国内多所高校培养了20余名学者和学生。
